The story
Here’s a brief intro on what the show’s about. After Life is centered around Tony Johnson, who is a newspaper writer. Tony’s life is turned upside down after the death of his beloved wife Lisa (Kerry Godliman), and it drastically affects his character. Tony has had a blunt and cynical nature, but thanks to Lisa, he didn’t have to bring it out and was kind and went with the flow always. But after her loss, he decides to be his truest self and stars saying and behaving without any care of hurting or offending people.
Tony is weirdly excited to show everyone his new version, but his family and friends, who cares for him a lot more than he realizes, do whatever they can to make him be the old, less cynical version of himself.
The new season
Season 3 looks to be more heartwarming, judging from the trailer as we see Tony more soft spoken and attentive to others’ feelings, without firing insults from the get-go. His wife’s death still haunts him, and to add to that is the recent loss of his father. In the trailer we see Tony, along with his beloved German shepherd Brandy, setting off to scatter his father’s ashes at all his favorite places. Do not be worried about the comedy, because we will still be getting many laugh-out-loud moments from this season as well.
Don’t miss the premiere of After Life season 3 on Netflix.
