The series has been inspired by My Dentist’s Murder Trial: Adultery, false identities, and a lethal sedation, an article published by the New Yorker in 2017, written by James Lasdun. Lasdun personally knew Dr. Gilberto Nunez, the dentist in question. Nunez was accused for the murder of Thomas Kolman, his friend.

But as the case went on, it was found out that Nunez was not the killer, but he did have an affair with Kolman’s wife. He was still sentenced to prison on charges of fraud for impersonating a C.I.A agent. Pedro Pascal will be starring as Nunez, while Harbour’s role is presently unknown. He can either star as Kolman or as one of the detectives who played an active role in the investigation and trials. We are also not aware how closely the story will be adapted, but it is one of the most interesting crime stories out there.
