Achieving peace by waging wars
We got to see the madness that James Gunn showed with Peacemaker in The Suicide Squad, and the new trailer has shown even more of it. However, while Peacemaker was shown to be the big bad in the movie, the series has him having a slight change of heart. Read on to find out.
We see Christopher Smith, aka Peacemaker reuniting with his Suicide Squad co-stars Steve Agee as John Economos and Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, who both used to work under Amanda Waller’s Task Force X. The series introduces Leota Abedayo, played by Danielle Brooks, who Gunn has described as the co-lead. It also stars Freddie Stroma as Vigilante and Chukwudi Iwuji as Clemson Murn. Gunn has written all eight episodes of the series, and has directed five of them.
The Suicide Squad had Peacemaker trying to ensure peace at all costs. However, in the trailer we see him becoming conflicted and having introspections on how far he should go to bring peace. At the same time, explosions, murders, and jumping out of hotel room windows wearing nothing but tighty-whities continue.
