The much-awaited Star War series The Mandalorian is all set to release with the launch of Disney’s new streaming service Disney plus next month on the 12th of November. The name ‘Mandalorian’ has deep roots in the history of the Star War franchise. It is in a way related to the armor worn by bounty hunter Boba Fett.
Fans had the first glimpse of The Mandalorian trailer in August at Disney’s bi-annual convention D23. Disney then stimulated our desire with a tweet that unveiled a new poster of The Mandalorian. In the poster, the character of Mandalorian can be seen walking away from his ship at the back. The background displays a binary sunset and some sand crawlers in the background, on a planet that looks a lot like Tatooine.
The character of Mandalorian will be taken by Pedro Pascal who is better known for the role of Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones. For the series, Pascal will be joined by Giancarlo Esposito (who played Gus Fring in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul); MMA fighter and Deadpool actress Gina Carano; Emily Swallow from Supernatural; Carl Weathers of Rocky and Predator fame; Down and Out in Beverly Hills actor Nick Nolte; Omid Abtahi from American Gods; Taika Waititi from Thor: Ragnarok; Agents of SHIELD’s Ming-Na Wen; and Werner Herzog (who directed and narrated Grizzly Man).
As already mentioned, The Mandalorian will air next month on the 12th of November. Fans will have to wait for a week for a new episode as the episodes will release weekly. But this will not be it, the show will possibly have more seasons because the show’s Executive Producer Jon Favreau has stated that he is already working on the script of the second season and that he hopes to direct one of the episodes.
