The Last Kingdom is one of the best and popular historical drama currently running. The series is an adaptation of Bernard Cornwell’s Novel series The Saxon. Fans have showered a lot of love in the series. Folks have given a positive response to the series. Therefore, Netflix and the creators of The Last Kingdom are all set for releasing its fourth installment.
The story is based on the timeline of the 7th Century. The main focus of the series is the son of Uhtred. He is a Saxon boy but raised by the Danes. The battle begins when Uhtred is forced to travel Wessex, a non-Danish constituency.
Updates on Season 4
The upcoming of the fourth season is confirmed since December 2018. The news came from its official Twitter account. Afterward, Netflix also confirmed this. In April 2019, the shooting for the fourth season started. It will have a total of 10 episodes. Although no official announcement is made yet. But it is assumed that the show will release by the mid of 2020.
The cast for The Last Kingdom Season 4
Although most of the cast will remain the same. Netflix confirmed two new faces in the story. Stefanie Martini will debut as a new love conquest of Aethelred. The name of her character will be Eadith. Jamie Blackleg will play the role of Eardwulf. He will be the new right-hand man of Aethelred.
Most of the older cast will remain the same to continue the story. Alexander Dreymon will pursue his role as Uhtred of Bebbanburg. Ian Hart will continue as Father Beocca.
We will also have Tony Regbo as Aethelred and Emily Cox as Brida, Timothy Innes as Kind Edward, Millie Brady as Aethelflaed, Mark Rowley as Finan, Eliza Butterworth as Aelswith, Magnus Bruyn as Cnut and Jeppe Beck Laursen as Haesten. Many other casts will also return for their role as in the previous seasons.
