Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth Might Not be Together Anymore, But the Singer Celebrated Anniversary of Liam’s Tribute Song “Malibu”

They may no longer be together, but the singer still posted the song to commemorate its 3rd anniversary

On Monday, the “Wrecking Ball” singer took to her Instagram account to commemorate the three-year-mark of her song “Malibu,” which had been inspired by her rekindled romance with ex Liam Hemsworth. The song was about how she got back with Hemsworth in 2015 and picked up from where they left off in Malibu, where they lived before getting divorced in 2019.

Still on good terms

She captioned “3 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF MALIBU” for the post, which was a montage of the clips from the official video along with reactions from her fans after seeing the video for the first time.

After her split with the Hunger Games star, the singer released a breakup song called “Slide Away,” as a way of letting her fans know why they grew apart. After announcing their split, one source revealed to E! News that even though they have separated, it wasn’t a messy split and that they just realized they are different points in their lives currently.

Things have changed for the two since their divorce. Cyrus got into a relationship with fellow musician Cody Simpson, and Hemsworth is currently dating actress Maddison Brown and moved back to Australia to be closer to his family after his split with Miley. He spoke about how he had a tough six months after their very public split, and exercise had helped him greatly in finding balance.

His sister-in-law Elsa Pataky has said that Liam has been coping well after getting out of a relationship he had dedicated ten years to and that he’s a strong boy. His older brother Chris Hemsworth praised him for keeping his fitness and staying close to his family.
