Recently, the teaser of Margot Robbie starrer Birds Of Prey was leaked online.
More often, trailers and teasers are released online or shown at Comic-Con. But this time, the teaser of DC’s forthcoming film, Birds of Prey was only shown exclusively to cinemagoers. The teaser was attached to this week’s release, IT Chapter Two. And while it was intended to be a theatre-only experience, many were left upset since DC fans also wanted to see what the film was bringing to the table.
However, the fans’ hopes seem to bear fruit as the 40-second teaser was leaked online. What is so startling about it is the fact that it is in HD as well.
THE BREAKDOWN
Much like any other DC movie, the logo of Warner Bros appears at the start of the teaser. And dozens of red balloons are seen flying in front of it as IT’s clown, Pennywise’s laughter is heard in the background. Soon after, a figure is seen from the dark.
And it is none other than Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. She is dressed in her complete costume, holding a large hammer. Next, she says, “I’m so over clowns.” This dialogue from Harley is a possible dig at Pennywise or her ex-boyfriend, Joker from the Suicide Squad.
Meanwhile, some quick looks at the film are shown. This features Harley (Margot Robbie) with the Huntress and Black Canary. Both of them are engaging in different kinds of action sequences. The villain, Black Mask, portrayed by actor Ewan McGregor also makes an appearance.
The film is a spin-off to 2016’s Suicide Squad. It is directed by Cathy Yan. Additional cast includes Jurnee Smollett-Bell and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. On the other hand, the reboot of the Suicide Squad is also in pre-production. The reboot is being helmed by Guardians of The Galaxy fame director James Gunn.
Birds of Prey is slated to release in February next year.
