In 2017, the show ‘Big Little Lies’ has dominated the Emmys. Big Little Lies has won about eight prizes at the award show including the Best Limited Series and almost in every category it was eligible then. But as the second season of Big Little Lies has rolled out, it is now going to be considered as a drama series for 2020 Emmy Awards.
As the Awards ceremony started, doubts started to arise in everyone’s mind. Is the second season of Big Little Lies going to win as good as its first season at the awards ceremony? Fans are predicting that the series, Big Little Lies, is going to earn about four nominations in Best Drama Supporting Actress category just like Games of thrones has earned this year.
For ‘Lies’ in 2017, Shailene Woodly and Dern were nominated for supporting women. Since Game of Thrones is going be out of the way, it is expected that these two women are strong enough to make the cut for the category, Drama Supporting Actress next year. Meryl Streep and Zoe Kravitz are expected to be the other two nominations for the Drama Supporting roles. Especially Zoe Kravitz because she is well benefited from the expansion of her role’s family history.
Unlike many other award ceremonies, The Emmys favor multiple nominations from a single show. The TV academy members are not limited to just five or six choices. They can check off as many names they are willing to and as many names that deserved to be nominated.
The biggest challenge that the series ‘Big Little Lies’ has to face will be the women who have come back into the race. Though it is a big relief that the women from Game of Thrones will be gone, several Emmy friendly shows are on the list.
