The series is currently in production
Paramount’s reboot of hit Nickelodeon show iCarly is now onto the second season. It was a pleasant surprise for longtime fans who grew up watching the sitcom. The revival by Paramount was the right amount of nostalgia, combined with the classic Nickelodeon humor.
Season 1 of the iCarly revival arrived on Paramount+ on June 2021. Now, let’s see the details on Carly Shay (Miranda Cosgrove) and her friends’ next return.
Paramount’s announcement
Paramount had a big announcement last night on various upcoming shows. Many revivals and sequels were announced, and this included season 2 of iCarly. The series is currently filming, and is set to release later this year. However, no exact date is given. It will be announced once the show is wrapped up, but fans expect it to drop around June, same as last year.
Season one of the revival, was Paramount+’s top comedy show in 2021, as announced by the streamer. So they will be looking to keep up the pace and make sure the second season is just as fun as season 1.
Story changes
The people who have grown up watching the original, which aired from 2007 to 2012, are all grown up. The revival made sure that it maintained the show’s fun nature but still deal with adult problems and relatable situations. The cast are all in their mid to late 20s, and maintaining a children’s theme will not ensure much success.
All of the leading cast will return for season 2. Aside from Cosgrove, the cast includes Nathan Kress (Freddie Benson), Jerry Trainor (Spencer), and the newly-introduced Lacu Mosley (Harper), and Jaidyn Triplett as Freddie’s step-daughter Millicent.
Season 2 is also teasing a bunch of cameos. This includes Josh Peck, who is also a Nickelodeon alum.
