Welcome back, Hugh Jackman!
On Tuesday, we got some hugh Deadpool 3 news. No, that wasn’t a typo. Because, the third installment of the hilarious anti-hero’s tale will feature an old frenemy – Wolverine. Hugh Jackman has officially come out of retirement to play his most iconic role once again, with Ryan Reynolds, who definitely deserves all the thanks for this return.
Deadpool 3 Announcement
Deadpool 3 was announced in typical Ryan Reynolds fashion, with dry wit and satire. In the video, shared by the actor on all socials, has him telling fans that he was sad about missing D23. Reynolds then proceeded to talk about the third Deadpool film and how he has searched his would for this one. After all, Deadpool is making his MCU debut so it needs to be very special. But he concluded by saying he found nothing. But they did come up with one idea. Then we see Hugh Jackman casually walking in the background, with Ryan asking, “Hey Hugh, you want to play Wolverine one more time?” Jackman responds with a nonchalant “Yeah, sure Ryan.” Then the Deadpool logo appears, before getting slashed right through the middle through Wolverine’s adamantium claws.
Bonus Update
Once the initial excitement of the fans had passed over, Ryan and Hugh sat down to answer some doubts about Deadpool 3. They said that it will not touch Jackman’s last movie Logan, where he dies at the end. Logan takes place in 2029, while this one is set in the current timeline, possibly 2025. The duo promises to answer all fan questions in less than a minute, which ended up being another troll as loud music played as they were explaining.
Either way, Wolverine is back and Deadpool 3 will release on September 6, 2024.
