‘The Conjuring 4’ in the Works by the Writer of Aquaman 2
In addition to a fourth major Conjuring movie series under development, the direct sequel The Nun is now undergoing production in France and is being produced by James Wan and Peter Safran. The Hollywood Reporter also added that James Wan and Peter Safran would be reprising their roles as producers, with The Conjuring universes production team now in France for The Nun 2.
James Wan, who created The Conjuring universe and has been involved with every movie in the franchise, is returning to produce The Conjuring 4, along with frequent collaborator Peter Safran. James Wan and Peter Safran will be returning to production, having served as producers for every previous movie in The Conjuring universe.
James Wan, who started the franchise in 2013 with The Conjuring, and also directed the sequel, is attached to serve as a producer. David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick is definitely no stranger to working with James Wan and Peter Safran, in or out of the Conjuring franchise at Warner Bros. Pictures.
Johnson-McGoldrick also co-wrote the 2018s DC Extended Universe movie Aquaman, then signed on to write his forthcoming follow-up, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and is now writing The Conjuring 4.
No plot details about the next film of The Conjuring are revealed. The Conjuring films are based upon real-life case files from paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, though the exact causes of The Conjuring 4 are kept a secret. As far as what is next for Ed and Lorraine Warren, details on The Conjuring 4 are not released, although it is possible that the sequel will draw from one or more of Warrens’s real-life investigations.
