The movie will debut on Prime Video
Chris Evans and Dwayne Johnson have teamed up for the very first time for the Amazon Prime Video holiday flick, Red One. The two A-list stars are known for playing superheroes as well – Evans as Captain America, and Johnson as Black Adam.
The two stars have had a history of working for streaming services. Evans has starred in Apple TV+’s Defending Jacob and Netflix’s The Gray Man, while Johnson had starred in Netflix’s Red Notice, which is not connected to Red One.

Red One will mark the two stars’ first collaboration with Prime Video. Apart from being a holiday film, there is very little we know about the plot. But images of Chris Evans filming the movie had been coming in since late September. Johnson had been busy with Black Adam promotions and has now joined him on their Atlanta set.
Producer Hiram Garcia, who originally came up with the movie, said that it is a combination of Johnson’s Hobbs & Shaw, as well as Guardians of the Galaxy. He also said that the movie would contain “crazy mythological elements” and “globe-trotting,” all mixed into a fun holiday film. Aside from Chris Evans and Johnson, the movie boasts a stellar cast consisting of Kiernan Shipka, Lucy Liu, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, J.K. Simmons, and Nick Kroll.
An Ambitious Venture
Amazon has left no stone unturned in making Red One a spectacle. Johnson was reportedly paid $50 million for his role. Chris Evans is another wild card, having grown greatly as a star in the last ten years. He is also breaking away from the mold left by Captain America, and is playing some less-likable characters. Fans are also excited to see the dynamic between the two stars.
Red One is set for a holiday 2023 release.
