Matt Casey bids adieu
After a long almost 9 years of starring in the NBC series Chicago Fire, Actor Jesse Spencer has decided to leave the show. The show bid goodbye to Jesse after 10 seasons in the 200th episode of the show.
Jesse’s goodbye to Matt was on Wednesday night’s episode. The actor described the goodbye as ‘Perfect’. He further goes on to say that this wraps up 10 years for him. He said it’s been a long time that he and his comrades have faced life and death together. The actor also hinted at a possible return for Cassey saying that for now, it is pretty organic that he is leaving for three years. Spencer questioned Casey’s leaving by saying is he leaving forever?. Spencer also said that after almost doing TV for 18 years, he is looking to explore other opportunities.
Series executive producer Derek Haas also revealed his feelings upon the departure by saying, Jesse’s departure was pretty difficult to write. He further goes on to say thanks to Jesse publicly for his friendship and amazing service in making the show incredible.

Matt Casey’s departure
His character Matthew Casey bid adieu to Chicago’s Fire department to leave for Oregon. Matthew left for Oregon to look after Ben and Griffin Darden, sons of Andy Darden who died in the premiere of the series.
Andy Darden’s widow Heather had recurring appearances in seasons 1 and 2. When Heather ends up in jail for vehicular homicide charges and DUI. Which saw Matt taking care of her sons. Heather exited Chicago and went to Oregon. Griffin, who is looking for some closure appears in the episode and tells Casey that the family has been unstable for quite some time and Mom (Heather) is in jail again for fourth DUI.
