Cher offers her new version of ‘The Golden Girls’ theme as a tribute!
The “Believe” famed singer Cher, shared a splendid clip to her social media on Friday as a tribute to legendary Betty White. The post contains an all-new version of the long-lasting theme song of the 1980s sitcom “The Golden Girls”. Along with Betty White, Bea Arthur, Estelle Getty and Rue McClanahan starred in “The Golden Girls”.
In addition to this, Andrew Gold was first to write and record “Thank You For Being a Friend,” in 1978. However, later, Cynthia Fee covered it with her unparalleled vocals. Moreover, Cynthia’s version became the adaptation used on the Emmy- winning alternation which rolled from 1985 to 1992.

On Hollywood’s Golden Girls Stage 5, Cher gave the unique overall performance of “Thank You For Being a Friend”, where the elongated NBC collection was being taped. She captioned the captivating vocals clip on her Instagram saying Every friend is golden. Along with the post, she added the details about celebrating ‘Betty White: America’s Golden Girl’ in a upcoming TV special. The program will air on Monday.
Six days after suffering from a stroke, White passed away on December 31. She just died 2 weeks afore her 100th birthday. To make her birthday memorable even after her demise, NBC planned a glorious event to celebrate Betty White’s talent and life. As per the NBC’s news release, they’re going to telecast the unseen and sweet moments on and behind camera.
NBC’s attempt to make White’s birthday special
NBC invited her colleagues, friends and loved ones to share their bitter-sweet moments with White. In addition to this, they will reveal the her backstories and struggle which paved her way to be a queen in the industry. Furthermore, they will connect people with her on-screen character through unrevealed footages.
The clips will take fans on a ride of cockeyed optimist, free spirited and jolly personality. Moreover, there will be on stage celebrations of her fabulous work, comedy timings and energetic vibe that trademarks her successful career.
