Brace Yourself as ‘Venom 2’ is Hitting the Theaters in 2020

After the box office success of Sony’s Venom, it didn’t surprise anyone when the sequel was announced. Tom Hardy’s Venom was not just a box office hit but it also surpassed the earnings of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and Deadpool 2.

The sequel was already planned even before the release of the first movie. The sequel was already among the talks of cast and crew before Venom hit the theatres. After two years of its release, the sequel is all underway and is being written by Venom‘s co-writer Kelly Marcel who is also the executive producer.

Director Andy Serkis said that the movie will be an “extraordinary piece of cinema” but didn’t reveal further about the plot of the movie. He told IGN that the movie is in the beginning stages and that he has very clear ideas about the characters and the movie. The sequel will focus on the relationship between Eddie and Venom. Kevin Feige said that a crossover of Venom and Spiderman is somewhat likely to happen at some point. Amy Pascal said that they have big plans for Tom Holland to be a part of everything Marvel.

Cast and characters

Tom Hardy will be back as Eddie Brock and his alien symbiote Venom in his titular sequel along with Michelle Williams who played the Anne Weying, Eddie’s ex-wife. Naomie Harris will also join the cast and will probably play the role of Shriek. Woody Harrelson will also be playing the role of Cletus Kasady and Carnage.

When is the movie releasing?

Since the first movie was released on 5th October 2018 the sequel is expected to do the same. Also, Sony has an “Untitled Sony/Marvel Sequel” which will be released on 2nd October 2020. It is safe to assume that it will be Venom 2. The trailer has not come out yet.
