We get to hear more about the actor’s condition after being hospitalized due to the coronavirus
On Sunday, which was Mother’s Day, Amanda Kloots got to speak with her husband, Broadway actor Nick Cordero, who had been hospitalised since late March due to complications regarding the COVID-19, and is battling it to this day. Kloots, who is a fitness trainer that their chat included “positive little things”.
Helped spread awareness about the gravity of the virus
Thanks to the insight shared by Kloots, fans are getting an idea about how the virus has impacted us in many different ways. Cordero had been hospitalised in March 30, and later tested positive for the virus and had to be put under a medically induced coma. As per an Instagram post by Kloots, he later suffered an infection which caused his heart to stop, required resuscitation, had two mini strokes, went in ECMO, required a surgery to remove an ECMO cannula that prevented the blood flow to his leg, a faciatomy to relieve pressure on the leg afterwards, and then his right leg had to be amputated.
After that an MRI was taken to see that there was no brain damage, then multiple bronchitis sweeps to clear his lungs, a septic infection causing septic shock, a fungus in his lungs, holes in his lungs, a tracheostomy, blood clots, low blood count and platelet levels, and finally a temporary pacemaker to assist his heart.
She thanked God that he had made this so far, but after her video call and seeing Cordero following her commands, she has faith that he will pull through. She also thanked his doctors and nurses for the incredible job they were doing.
