Netflix is about to bring an original series that promises to keep its audience on the edge of their seats. ‘Unbelievable,’ as the name goes, this series is going to be available on the network from 13th of September, 2019.
The new series of ‘Unbelievable’ is based on a real-life incident. The show shares similarities with an infamous series of Netflix, ‘Mindhunter.’ The plot of ‘Mindhunter,’ however, is based on serial killers and their past deeds, but the one of ‘Unbelievable deals with a rape crime. Hence, the latter demands a bit more of the emotional and traumatic sides of its viewers. The trailer of ‘Unbelievable’ is making the audience crave for its arrival already.
The story of ‘Unbelievable’ revolves around an ‘unbelievable’ rape case. It shows a girl reporting herself has been raped. The traumatic state of the girl, as well as the public voices, is turning the situation to be worse. Meanwhile, a group of detectives is investigating the crime in some other state, having shreds of evidence of the girl telling the truth.
This rape case was published in an article, from which the series is adopted. The writers of the series are T. Christian Miller and Ken Armstrong. This story was published jointly by ProPublica and The Marshall Project. The Pulitzer Prize was awarded to the article as well as The Marshall Project for documenting the case so vividly.
‘Unbelievable’ is already receiving quite a number of positive comments and appreciation from the audiences. The show is being compared to other similar series, apart from ‘Mindhunter.’ One of such includes ‘True Detective’. It is being believed that ‘Unbelievable’ is going to be a treat for all those who love crime and detective genre.
