Army of thieves: A forthcoming prequel to Netflix’s Army of the Dead
The prequel of Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead has come onboard. With the title of “Army of Thieves,” the movie is ready to roll. Here’s all that you need to know about this film.
Release date
Zack Snyder revealed on Twitter that Army of Thieves will be accessible to everyone one starting October 29, 2021, on the Netflix streaming service. Though Army of Dead got released barely three and a half months ago, the prequel is already in the works. It’s good that fans don’t have to stay in suspense for longer.
Plot
The film Army of Thieves features the lives of a group of muggers who take off on a mission to become rich. This film is set six years before the zombie apocalypse that happened in Army of Dead. Unlike the first film, this story focuses on Ludwig Dieter’s team who attempt to sort out the problems raised in the light of the Las Vegas incident. Well, all these lead to the confirmation that the film will have very few zombies.
The trailer of the film features a mysterious woman hiring Ludwig Dieter to open up a safe. So, looks like “safecracking” will be a common thing in both films. Fans can expect that this movie will answer all the questions of the previous movie.
While the Army of Dead is classified under the zombie genre, its prequel is classified as a romantic-comedy heist film. All these imply that one cannot expect this film to be similar to the previous one.
Army of Thieves: Cast
This film definitely got a star-studded cast. The director of the film Matthias Schweighôfe will be back again as Ludwig Dieter, the German safecracker. Also, Game of Thrones actress Nathalie Emmanuel will be seen in the role of Gwendoline. American comedian Guz Khan plays the role of Rolph, Stuart Martin as Brad Cage, Jonathan Cohen as Delacroix.
In addition to these cast members, Ruby O. Fee will play the role of Korina. John Bubniak and Peter Simonischek also have reportedly joined the cast.
