Can one Rogue save everyone?
Star Wars‘ stint with Disney+ is going as strong as ever, with Obi-Wan Kenobi being particularly praised for bringing back the iconic Jedi and his Disciple, Anakin, who went on to become Darth Vader. Up next is the Diego Luna-starrer Andor. The series acts as a prequel to the movie, Rogue One. Let’s read on to find out more about the series.
About Andor
Andor introduces us to a rebellion occurring within the massive universe of Star Wars. Shown as an espionage thriller, it will showcase the work done in the dark by the Rebellion’s spies and secret soldiers. The new trailer revealed many of the show’s characters, including the return of Academy Award-winning actor Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera.
As for the story, Rogue One showed that Cassian (Luna) is ready to kill another Rebel spy so that he can prevent valuable information from being passed to the Rebellion. He almost assassinates Galen Erso in the process. A dark and difficult past of Andor will be shown, and characters’ safety is not guaranteed.
From the trailer, we can also see that the post-Order 66 is where season 1 takes place. The stormtroopers do not have their classic armor just yet, and a large training facility indicates that the Empire has not started the clone experimentation yet.
Season 2 Reports
It’s no surprise that the show is getting a second season. It had been planned as a two-part series from the start, with 12 episodes each. Different phases of Cassian, as well as the Rebellion’s journeys, will be shown.
That being said, Andor is all set to premiere on Disney+ on September 21, 2022. Check out the trailer below.
