Watch out for comeback teasers!
After the comeback of NCT 127 in December, it is now the turn of NCT Dream.
The news was announced by an online news portal to which NCT’s agent SM Entertainment responded. They confirmed that the seven-member team is preparing for their new album and will return in March. They added to “show lots of interest.”
Their past year
2021 was a massive year for NCT Dream, thanks to their album Hot Sauce and its repackaged version Hello Future. The album pre-orders had surpassed 1.716,571 copies and later went on to sell 2.071 million copies by May. After that came Hello Future, which had sole 1.279 million copies by June. The cumulative sales surpassed 3.35 million and they took home the “Best Album” award at the 31st Seoul Music Awards.
Hot Sauce‘s first song was named after its title, and made up for most of the success. It was the right mix of synth-heavy sounds and hip-hop beats, and topped music charts in no time. The addictive song was one of Summer 2021’s best releases, and is still a viral sensation. With this major victory, they have now secured a spot next to industry giants like BoA, BTS, IU, G-Dragon, Epik High, BigBang and many others.
Higher stakes
Despite their inception in 2016, NCT Dream had flown fairly under the radar as compared to most K-Pop bands. Hot Sauce has thrust them towards the spotlight, and now they will need to top it. The seven – Jisung, Chenle, Jaemin, Mark Lee, Jeno, Renjun, and Haechan has made five EP’s, one studio album, a repackaged album, a live album, and a single album so far.
Let’s wish them the very best on their future endeavours, and of course, look forward to March.
