The Man of Steel will become the face of the DCEU again
After years of hoping and campaigning, Superman fans celebrated last week when watching Black Adam. In the movie’s mid-credits scene, Amanda Waller hires the universe’s strongest being to stop the uncontrollable Black Adam, and Henry Cavill returns to speak to Adam.
Superman’s Troubled History
Superman was the one who began the DCEU, with Henry Cavill in the lead. However, his 2013 debut with Man of Steel received mixed reviews. Zack Snyder’s directing was under scrutiny. However, Warner Bros. green-lit a second movie – Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. However, the movie further divided the fanbase, as we got a Superman who was hardly the classic boy scout, a Batman who kills, and a world that hates and fears Superman. Then the whole Justice League fiasco took place with Snyder leaving midway, and Joss Whedon and a bunch of studio executives taking charge. The character’s reboot was being discussed, with J.J. Abrams making a Black Superman. But things are now looking up.
Henry Cavill Speaks
In a video shared on Instagram, Henry Cavill made the return public, aside from sharing a new image of the Man of Steel. Cavill said that what fans saw in Black Adam is just a tiny taste of things to come. He thanked fans and others who made his return possible, and said everyone will be rewarded. This is a hint that the face-off between Superman and Black Adam will result in Earth-shattering fights. There are also rumors of Cavill filming scenes for The Flash and Aquaman 2 along with Ben Affleck, who is returning after saying he has given up on the role for good following Justice League.
With all that said, it is good to have Henry Cavill back and usher in a new age of heroes.
