Christian Bale Thanks Leonardo DiCaprio for Passing on Movie Roles, Talks About Leaving Hollywood

Christian Bale credited Leonardo DiCaprio as a “phenomenal” actor

Christian Bale has appeared in public this year more than in the past decade. After all, the actor has been picking up projects back to back. In a new interview, Bale got candid about how Hollywood actors only get roles that were initially turned down by megastar Leonardo DiCaprio.

In a new interview, the 48-year-old Welsh star said that most roles get offered to DiCaprio first before anyone else gets to them. An example he gave was when he almost lost his leading role in American Psycho to Leo.

Christian Bale went on to say that it does not happen just to him. To this day, any major role in a major production will be given to Leo first, and it doesn’t matter what anyone tells you. It also doesn’t matter how close other actors are to directors. Bale said that all the people he has worked with multiple times would offer the role to him first. He thanked Leo because of the roles he passed down and admired him for being able to choose everything he does. He finally praised the actor for being phenomenal.

Bale joked that every actor who began around the same time as Leo owes their career to him. But he added that he still gets roles and is okay with losing roles to Leo at this stage in his career.

Christian Bale is best-known for playing Batman/Bruce Wayne in the Dark Knight trilogy by Christopher Nolan. After the films did well, he started to realise that he might get typecast for the hero roles and this would be his excuse to leave the industry. But thankfully for him, he went on to get some of the most diverse roles ever.

Watch Christian Bale next in Amsterdam, alongside Margot Robbie, John David Washington, and many others on October 7.
