Deathstroke actor Joe Manganiello also discussed about Ben’s movie and said the fights were influenced by the Arkham games
Ben Affleck was influenced by the Arkham games franchise in designing his Batman solo movie. We will be seeing Affleck next in Zack Snyder’s Justice League which will be releasing on March 18 exclusively on HBO Max. The anticipation for the movie is also increasing especially since Snyder has been sharing little clips from the movie, including dialogues by Darkseid, who was completely omitted from the 2017 movie. From what we are seeing, Snyder’s will be a completely different movie and will contain all the dark elements that he is an expert in creating, and not the Avengers knock-off that Joss Whedon and WB made after Snyder’s exit. One of the biggest examples is what Ben Affleck’s Batman film would’ve shaped up to be, and how Deathstroke would be like as the villain.
Affleck’s Batman movie
Affleck was very much going to make a solo movie with Deathstroke as the villain, but stepped down in 2017 due to personal reasons. That was when Matt Reeves stepped in and casted Robert Pattinson in the lead. Following the Snyder Cut’s announcement, Affleck signed on to return in the new Flash movie. Affleck, along with Manganiello, returned to do some additional photography for the Snyder Cut as well.
Joe’s interview
Manganiello appeared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast and said that Affleck was influenced by the action seen in Batman: Arkham Origins. Not only did the movie had an excellent hand-to-hand fight between Batman and Deathstroke, but it also had a promotional video directed by Deadpool director Tim Miller.
Aside from this, a Deathstroke solo movie was also planned, but it fell off. Manganiello hopes for it to be revived following the Snyder Cut.
