The supporting character of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Peggy Carter was first seen as a SHIELD agent in Captain America: The First Avenger. She was cast opposite to Captain America, played by Chris Evans’ Rogers. Hayley Atwell, who played Peggy Carter, said that the way she and Captain America’s story ended was really satisfactory and fulfilled her. Captain America and Carter’s love story ended in a tragedy. Captain America is presumed to be dead due to his plane crash in the Arctic by the end of the movie. However, next, we see him awaking after seventy long years. And then he realizes that he has forever lost his opportunity to be with Peggy. Whereas, the story gets more closure in the Endgame. When Avengers defeat the supervillain, Thanos, Rogers decides to go back to the past and have his life with Peggy.
