Netflix has their shows sorted when it comes to dark comedy animes. Aggretsuko, whose second season came out in 2019 was similarly adored by fans and looks like a third season is just on the horizon.
The show is based on a 25-year-old red panda named Retsuko, who works in a Tokyo based trading firm’s bookkeeping department. Retsuko has sort of a midlife crisis and is crushed by her own anxieties. Her problems in life are to deal with her terrifying bosses at the office, listen to her assertive mother, and a complete lack of social life.
Retsuko finds her peace through death metal karaoke sessions. When it gets too much, she picks up the microphone and sings about things she could never actually say to people.
Aggretsuko Season 3 Release Date:
The first season of Aggretsuko was released on April 20, 2018. The shows second season renewal news came at Anime Expo in the summer of 2018, and the second season was later released in the June of 2019, a year later. Going on with the trend, it seems like Season 3 could release in June to September period of 2020, but we aren’t entirely sure since the coronavirus pandemic has stalled everything right now.
How many episodes will season 3 have?
Just like seasons 1 and 2, we expect the show to have 10 episodes, each lasting about 15 minutes.
Season 3 plot:
Season 2 of the show took a dive into Retsuko’s personal life. Retsuko grew fond of some of her coworkers, like the gossipy Kabae. Season 2 was more about looking deep at her own preconceived notions about adulthood, what she thinks it will be like and what it actually is.
Season 3 might offer something different and show a completely new adventure that Retsuko embarks upon, it would be a great opportunity to add more depth to the show by adding new characters and a different storyline.
