Marvel’s Black Panther is ready to have its own sequel. Way back when it was released Marvel boss Kevin Feige said that Black Panther 2 is definitely going to happen. He didn’t reveal much but talked about the absolute possibility of a sequel. The movie made history after being nominated for the Golden Globes and seven Academy Awards, winning three Oscars in the end. Feige finally confirmed the sequel in Comic-Con.
When is Black Panther 2 releasing?
Ryan Coogler will be the writer and director of Black Panther 2 and he will work with the original creative cast and crew. The sequel will be released on 6th May 2022 which makes it a part of Phase 5 or probably one of the final movies of Phase 4.
It is pretty early to speculate the details of the plot of the sequel but fans have already conjured up numerous theories. In the first movie, T’Challa was crowned as the king of Wakanda defeating Erik Killmonger and M’Baku. In the next movie, Wakanda may be under attack again by Namor or Princess Zanda.
Who is returning for Black Panther 2?
For the sequel, most of the characters from the first movie are expected to make an appearance. Chadwick Boseman will absolutely return to play the king of Wakanda T’Challa and the titular Black Panther. Winston Duke as M’Baku, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Daniel Kaluuya as W’Kabi, and Angela Bassett as Ramonda T’Challa’s mother are expected to return for the sequel.
Is there a trailer?
Disney CEO Bob Iger told the Wall Street Journal that Coogler is starting to outline the story for Black Panther 2. For now, there is no unfinished script or production date. Since the release date is way into 2020 it is highly unlikely to receive a trailer this year. Maybe in 2021.
Black Panther 2 is releasing on 6th May 2022.
