Netflix’s own The Haunting of Hill House is coming back for season two. The series was based on Shirley Jackson’s novel of the same name published in 1959. In the series’ first season the Crain family- parents Hugh and Olivia with five children Steven, Shirley, Theodora, and twins Nel and Luke- moves into their new home. The family aspires to reconstruct the old property and sell it to gain their own profit. Contrary to their motives the house turns out to be a menace for them and they realise that this is not an ordinary place to live in.
The show proved to be a big hit with the audience and became people’s one of the most favourite shows of 2018. When the news of its second season The Haunting of Bly Manor reached the fans it was met with loads of enthusiasm. The name of the second season is the name of the house in the 1898 novella The Turn of the Screw by Henry James. Showrunner Mike Flanagan told Entertainment Weekly that the second season will be scarier and more frightening.
Who will be in season 2?
The Haunting of Bly Manor will have several members of the cast returning from the first season. Since the whole series will work as an anthology, therefore, the actors will be cast in new roles every season. Victoria Pedretti who played Nell Crain in season one will return as Dani, and Oliver Jackson-Cohen who played Luke Crain in season one will return as Peter. Henry Thomas, Kate Siegel, and Catherine Parker from the previous season will also return. Amelia Smith, Benjamin Ainsworth, T’Nia Miller, Rahul Kohli, and Amelia Eve will also join the cast.
When is it coming out?
The trailer for the second season is not out yet but the fans were graced with a teaser way back in February 2019. The Haunting of Bly Manor will probably air this year around Halloween (just like season one).
