The Kung Fu Panda series have been fans’ favourite since the release of its first movie. It has amassed great revenue and has also garnered favourable critical reception. Pandas are pretty popular animals owing to the soft spot that people have for this adorable creature. Seeing an animated version of the adorable and chubby animal doing martial arts along with an ensemble of other animal characters has been a treat for everyone from the very go.
Great Success of the Franchise
After the success of the first Kung Fu Panda movie released in 2008, DreamWorks worked on its sequel which was released in 2011. In 2016 the twice Academy Award nominated series came back with Kung Fu Panda 3. The movies appealed to the audience, being praised for its voice acting and development of the characters and storyline. The fourth installment was heard to be released in 2018. Now, the date might have been shifted to somewhere in 2020.
Since the franchise doesn’t follow any definite pattern it is difficult to say a specific release date. Jeffrey Katzenberg, the CEO of DreamWorks, stated that the series could contain six movies. This might indicate the possibility of the release of the fourth Kung Fu Panda movie.
Cast and Characters
Up until now, there is no trailer or a poster for the movie, but there is a studded star cast lined-up. With Jack Black in the titular role of the Panda Po, Bryan Cranston as Li Shan, Jean-Claude Van Damme as Master Croc, Angelina Jolie as Tigress, Dustin Hoffman as Master Shifu, Seth Rogen as Mantis, Jackie Chan as Monkey, Lucy Liu as Viper and David Cross as Crane, the movie has already became much-anticipated.
For the movie’s direction, co-directors Jennifer Yuh Nelson and Alessandro Carloni are expected to come together.
Kung Fu Panda will no doubt follow in the success of its predecessor and round up more critical acclaims and revenue for its studio.
