Kacey Musgraves came out with her experience of having psychedelic drugs and revealed that it is the reason behind her perceiving the true beauty of life. Kacey Lee Musgraves is a singer and a songwriter of American origin. Winning six Grammy Awards, Musgraves and her country songs are widely popular all over the world. Her song, ‘Follow Your Arrow’ got her the award for ‘Song of the Year’ in 2015, by Country Music Association.
While being interviewed, Kacey quoted “They have brought me closer to our planet and humanity. I have walked away with a lot of little gifts.” Adding to it, the singer continued, “If I go down in flames for being me, well then, hey, I tried. At least I went down in flames for something that I was”. Referring to the album, ‘Golden Hour,’ that got her the Grammy, Musgraves revealed that the song ‘Mother’ (from the album ‘Golden Hour’) was penned while she was under the impression of a psychedelic drug. Mentioning repeatedly that she has benefited from psychedelic drugs, Kacey also made it clear that her opinions are solely based on her experiences and that she forces no one to try them unwillingly. According to the country singer also mentioned that the drugs had helped her to be a better daughter, granddaughter, and a partner.
The acid trips (an experience caused after consuming a psychedelic drug such as LSD), according to Musgrave, helped her to perceive the significance of life and humanity as a whole. She quotes, “Yes, we are all special, but we are also nothing, just a fraction of a grain of sand in the book of the time, and make what you have count and make relationships around you mean something.”Also, caring and protecting our Earth should be of our prime concern as “we only have one,” what Kacey has realized while being on her acid trips. In this context, she said, “Whenever you are affected by hallucinogenics, especially mushrooms, you care for the Earth.”
