The man mainly identified by his show ‘Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood which was aired from 1968 to 2001. The show was a children’s entertainment television program. On September 07, last Saturday, ‘A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood’ was premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. The biopic showed Fred’s relationship with the journalist, which is portrayed by Matthew Rhys. The main lead, Tom Hanks, who is playing ‘Fred Roger’ in the film along with the director and other crew members, has appreciated the unique appearance of Fred and his positive ways of leading life. In a world we are living now, the antidote served by Fred against the pessimistic approaches is something worth remembering.

Amongst everything else, the one major point that convinced Tom Hanks’s to portray the character of Fred in his biopic was one of Fred’s famous uttering, “Please won’t you be less cynical?”In his interview at the film festival, Hanks conveyed, “Cynicism has become the default position for so much of daily structure and daily intercourse. Why? Because it is easy, and there is good money to be made.” Adding to his views, Tom continued, “That is a cynical treatment of the audience, and we have become so inured to that, that when we are met with as simple a message as, ‘Hey you know what, it is a beautiful day in the neighborhood!’ we get slapped a little bit,”

Fred passed away in the year 2003, due to his stomach cancer. However, several years after his death, a sweet revelation about him was made by his wife, Joanne. According to his wife, Fred’s favorite actor was Tom Hank.
