The action comedy also stars Dave Franco in the lead
Netflix has unveiled the trailer for their upcoming vampire-hunting comedy, Day Shift. Starring Jamie Foxx in the lead, the movie from the team of John Wick tells the story of a new-age vampire hunter who just wants to have a steady job. Let’s read in detail.
About Day Shift
The Twilight days are long behind us, and for good measure too, so that we can explore other areas of the popular horror genre. Day Shift opens with Foxx’s character going about in the pretense of being a pool cleaner to do what he really does – hunt vampires living among the people in Los Angeles. We soon see that he doesn’t hunt for the thrill of it – he needs to earn good money to prevent his family from falling apart. But doing it alone with his assistant (played by Dave Franco) wasn’t cutting it, so he turns to a friend, played by Snoop Dogg. Snoop’s character belongs to a vampire hunting union, which is more professional.
In between the dialogues, we see violent and bloody action, with vampires getting axed, gunned down, and losing heads. The movie is also a comedy, with many short quips between Foxx, Snoop, and Franco included. The trailer promises to give us a good show by presenting the title cards as “from the guys who taught John Wick how to kick ass.”
Additional Cast and Release Date
Day Shift will also star Karla Souza, Meagan Good, Oliver Masucci, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Steve Howey, C.S. Lee, and Scott Adkins. The movie will be directed by stunt coordinator J.J. Perry, with a screenplay written by John Wick scribe Shay Hatten.
Day Shift will be available on Netflix from August 12.
