The event was nothing short of fabulous
Jennifer Gates, the daughter of Bill Gates and Melinda French Gates has got hitched to her long-time boyfriend Nayel Nassar. The marriage took place at the Gates family farm in Westchester, New York.
Jennifer stunned everyone with a custom Vera Wang gown. The light ivory gown was embellished with hand applique French macramé lace on the bodice and sleeves. The Italian tulle chapel length veil worn by the bride was also trimmed in hand applique French macramé lace, the designer revealed in an Instagram post.
About the couple
Jennifer is now a third year MD candidate at the Icahn School of Medicine Mount Sinai. She was an internationally ranked equestrian athlete before she decided to take a medical path. She also found the Evergate Stables, a facility that specializes in all things show jumping. It trains equine athletes, and raises young horses as well. She co-manages the facility with her now-husband.
As for Nayel, he was born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in Kuwait by Egyptian parents, Iman Harby and Fouad Nassar. They are the founders of Diwan Interiors International. He is ranked 44th in the world as a show jumping rider and was also represented Egypt in the Tokyo Olympics. He recently developed and launched Jumpr, an app for show jumping results and statistics.
The elaborate guests list
Despite the pandemic, the couple wanted close friends and family with them on their special day. So they made sure each guest was vaccinated and received a negative test result before the wedding. Jennifer added that they made masks available, and was incredibly fortunate to get married with their loved ones nearby. The wedding took place in both Islamic and Christian traditions.
