Series of stories tied to 20th anniversary of 9/11
On this tragic day, there were four terrorist attacks by Al-Queda against the United States of America. Howard Gordan was the executive producer of show 24. 24 has also won Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series in 2006. The series ran from 2001-2010. Showtime’s Homeland was the co-creator of the show.
In one recent interview with Deadline Gordan shared his views about the show. He told us how the show came just after the attack and how huge the impact of the show was. The show was about the immediate aftermath of the attack. The whole country wanted to get back to the terrorist in whatever way possible. Then he also provided us with an update on the possible revival of 24 which will reflect the situation which is going on in Afghanistan.
How the show started and why?
The new Fox drama series 24 was released on the 11th of September 2001. However, only 4-5 episodes of the series were shooted at first. Therefore the first season had only 5 episodes. Then the network was promoting for months about the real-time terrorism-theme drama. Kiefer Sutherland was the main star of the show.
Howard Gordan is a simple man who lived in New York and had his family on East Coast. However, they were staying in Los Angeles at that time. It was a simple day and suddenly Howard’s uncle woke him and told him to turn on his TV. What he saw was horrific. He saw the first and second planes crashing into world trade center towers.
Further, Sarah shared how they were supposed to shoot that day. She was much concerned. Since her brother was working in the city at that time. However, the memories have gotten vivid day by day. Even if the incident took place two decades ago it still has left scars on some of the people.
