BLACKPINK’s Lisa Sets a Record with her Debut Single within 24 Hours

LALISA sets new record

Eventually, we are experiencing the ‘LALISA’ era. Youngest member of BLACKPINK’S, Lisa, has gone solo. Lisa released her first solo album ‘Lalisa’ on September 10. In addition, Lalisa made YouTube history by sweeping YouTube charts and making YouTube history with the single solo. Therefore, Lisa’s new song ‘LALISA’ shot to the top of iTunes charts in 60 countries and compiled nearly 79 million views on YouTube in a day.

The perception of femininity set by BLACKPINK

YG Entertainment formed the South Korean girl group BLACKPINK – commonly stylized as BLACKPINK or  BLΛƆKPIИK. It consists of Rose, Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa. Furthermore, Pink was chosen to contrast with the perception of femininity associated with the colour.

In addition to being beautiful, BLACKPINK is meant to represent more than beauty, according to the group’s label, YG Entertainment. “I may look good, but I don’t act great,” Jennie sings in the opening lines of “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du,” underscoring this point. At present, BLACKPINK has achieved its biggest achievement on YouTube.

BLACKPINK reached 65.22 million subscribers on YouTube on September 10, 2021. Afterward, the girl band reached the top of YouTube’s most-followed artists list. Moreover, K pop artists label the achievement ‘miraculous.’

With over 79 million views in its first 24 hours, ‘LALISA’ has already set a record for the most views achieved by a solo artist’s music video. In addition, Lisa’s b-side, “MONEY” went to number 2 on the Billboard charts. ‘LALISA’ showcased a stellar debut performance on Jimmy Fallon’s ‘The Tonight Show’. Lisa captivated the audience with her stylish attitude and charismatic stage presence.

The group appeared on the show last June to promote ‘THE ALBUM’ and Lisa was the first solo guest on the show. We congratulate Lisa!
