Director James Gunn is going all out to promote his upcoming film
2021’s The Suicide Squad is one of the most anticipated DC movies yet, and even after the lukewarm performance of the first movie, fans are just as excited to the see the next gang of C-list heroes consisting of prominent, and not so known DC comics villains and anti-heroes. A teaser was released during the DC FanDome event, and fans even got to see some behind-the-scenes action. The cast and crew seems to have a ball working with Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn.
The cast
The movie stars Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang who were all part of the first movie, along with new cast members Idris Elba as Bloodsport, John Cena as Peacemaker, Peter Capaldi as The Thinker, Flula Borg as Javelin, Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher, Michael Rooker as Savant, David Dastmalchian as Polka-Dot Man, Mayling Ng as Mongal, Nathan Fillion as TDK (full form is rumoured to be The Detachable Kid), Pete Davidson as Blackguard, Sean Gunn as Weasel, and Steve Agee as King Shark.
The main cover features only the cast while the subscribers-only cover has them with James Gunn. With such a massive cast, Gunn sure has a lot in his hands right now. When he shared the cover via Twitter, a fan asked how many of these characters will be dead by the end of the movie, to which Gunn replied, “Only half? Uh…,” which confirms that there’s going to be a lot of deaths in the movie. They are the Suicide Squad after all, and the new movie promises to be funnier and the bloodier than the first.
