The years have not been kind to Depp since his messy divorce to ex Amber Heard
Robert Downey Jr. and Johnny Depp had been friends for ages, their friendship going back to when they were still newbies in the industry, and were infamous troublemakers. For the last few years, Depp had been dealing with the long-running and really ugly divorce from ex-wife Amber Heard, and things have become worse since many of the things that happened were publicly revealed.

Hitting rock bottom
This legal battle has cost him a role he was renowned for – that of Captain Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Carribbean movies. After Heard alleged Depp of domestic violence, Disney, along with most of their fans believed that the actor was guilty, and got him fired from the role. In fact, the roles coming his way got so low that he reached out to the Iron Man actor to lend a hand, to which Downey responded by giving him a role in Sherlock Holmes 3.

If there’s one person who can show empathy to Depp, it’s Downey, as the actor had really hit rock bottom after being caught with drugs and getting arrested, which cost him his career. He had to start his life all over, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe was the right choice that launched him back to the position of an A-List actor, and being one of the highest paid actors in the industry currently. Therefore, it’s not surprising for him to help a brother out.

But thanks to the recent cases which showed that Heard is probably the one who is more guilty, there is a chance that Depp can be hired back by Disney.
