In an interview with Page Six on Saturday, Jamie addressed the movement that was initiated by Britney’s fans that aimed at ending her long-running conservatorship since Forbes reported that she was “being mistreated by those around her.”
What really happened
Britney made headlines in 2007 and 2008 after showing erratic behaviour under the influence of alcohol and drugs. This led to her being placed under psychiatric evaluation, and the conservatorship was imposed, which placed Jamie in control of all her financial and legal affairs.

And Jamie has stated that the whole #FreeBritney accusations is a joke and that the conspiracy theorists, along with the rest of the world don’t have a clue. He said it’s up to the court of California to decide what’s best for his daughter and not anyone else’s. Jamie added that the protestors of the movement are doing more than just peaceful protesting. He revealed that people are being stalked and targeted with death threats. “It’s horrible. We don’t want those kinds of fans,” he said.

There were rumors that originated with the movement, which stated that Jamie was keeping Britney’s estimated wealth of $59 million for himself, which he condemned. He said that his duty is to report “every nickel and dime” that they have used to the court every year, and that how would he steal something.
Britney’s brother Bryan talked about her last week and said that she has wanted to get out of the conservatorship herself.

On a side not, if she wants to end it, she will need to become self-sufficient which her brother says is difficult as she always had a team with her since age 15.
Currently the conservatorship is headed by her care manager Jodi Montgomery as Jamie stepped down last year owing to health issues.
