Uncharted Second Trailer is Out with New Characters, More Treasure & Bigger Stunts

The movie is coming out on February next year

The second trailer for Sony Pictures’ Uncharted movie is out, and you know what, things seem better. The first trailer showed some of the gravity-defying climbs and jumps that the game is known for, but the idea of Tom Holland as Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg as a moustache-less Sully didn’t exactly appeal. But the new trailer had some scenes which reminded me very much of the games I’ve loved since forever.

The trailer opens up with seasoned treasure hunter Victor “Sully” Sullivan recruiting the street-smart, wisecracking thief Nathan Drake for the adventure of a lifetime. Their client is Moncada (Antonio Banderas), who gives them a mission to recover the fortune lost by Ferdinand Magellan 500 years ago. However, Moncada firmly believes that it’s his family’s treasure, and soon turn out to be a major roadblock for Nate and Sully. The trailer also introduced Sophia Ali as Nate’s fellow treasure hunter and occasional love interest Chloe Frazer, and Tati Gabrielle as Braddock, a new character.

Some core elements

The Uncharted games are known for certain things, which the players love a great deal. The auctions, the stunts, the shootouts, deadly traps, and Sully’s moustache. The movie has included all of these items. In the third and fourth game, auctions were integral, as it kick-started their upcoming glob-trotting adventure. While at the auction, things always go south and a fight breaks out. But Nate and Sully prove how good they are at stealing by pocketing valuable items amid the chaos.

Hanging out of moving vehicles, getting shot at, almost dying by activating traps, and an ending scene where Mark Wahlberg spotted the moustache made up for the rest of the trailer.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Venom), Uncharted comes out on February 11, 2022.
