About the series
We are not aware of the direction the movie will take, but it’s guaranteed to stay true to its manga source material. The anime was produced by studio MAPPA, Avex Pictures, and Cygames. It premiered in 2018, and the second season wrapped up in June 2021.
It tells a story of Sakura Minamoto, a high school girl who dreamt to become an idol, but dies after getting hit by a truck on the day she planned to submit her application. But she wakes up ten years after, along with six other girls from different Japanese eras. However, they find out that they have been turned into zombies. The person behind this scheme is Kotaro Tatsumi, a man who wanted to change Saga prefecture with a zombie idol group. The group was later named Franchouchou.
Additional movie details
Unfortunately, we did not receive any details on the release date, production staff, cast, or whether it will be a continuation from the anime. But the final seconds of season 2, otherwise known as Zombieland Saga Revenge teased that aliens will be featured next. It can be a great addition to the movie, and will definitely amp up the excitement.
For now, seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream on Crunchyroll and Funimation.
