YouTube star, Grant Thompson, 38, passed away on Monday in a paragliding accident.
The month of July has ended on a very devastating note with the death of one of our favorite YouTubers, Grant Thompson, fondly addressed as King of Random. The 38-year-old star had gone for paragliding in Utah on Monday evening when he went off the radar.
When all the efforts to reach Grant went in vain, the Washington County Sheriff’s office was intimated about the loss of contact with Grant near Sand Hollow State Park, and delay in his arrival by more than 1 hour. A massive search to locate him was immediately launched by the office. His body was recovered on Tuesday using his phone’s GPS coordinates where he was declared dead on the site.
King of Random
Thompson shot to fame in 2010 with his YouTube channel ‘King of Random.’ The channel attracted viewers almost instantly with its innovative and unique experiment and life hack videos. With more than 11M subscribers on YouTube and 395K+ followers on Instagram, Grant Thompson was regarded as one of the most popular faces in the digital medium.
Untimely demise
The tragic news was broke to his fans via a post on his Instagram page and YouTube channel, where gratitude was expressed for the fans on his behalf. They were invited to share their thoughts in the comments underneath, and do a random act of kindness in his memory.
YouTube has expressed its condolences to the family on the death of its famous star. Thompson’s family is yet to release a statement regarding the cause of death.
