A new web domain for the series was registered online, and Ryokutya (a known personality in the anime industry) revealed that the anime is indeed under production with a 2022 release date. The animation studios being named were WIT (known for Attack on Titan) and CloverWorks (The Promised Neverland) who will be jointly working on the anime.

The report also revealed the crew and one cast member. Kazuhiro Furuhashi will be the director, Kazuaki Shimada will serve as character designer. Music will be composed by (K)now Name, known best for scoring Netflix’s Dorohedoro. So expect some absolute banger songs. Takuya Eguchi has been casted as the voice of Loid Forger, one of the leads. We are yet to receive the official announcement from Shueisha and team, but since the Shuiesha Jump Festa convention is coming in December, an announcement is expected.

The story is about an agent named Twilight, who changes his name to Loid Forger for a mission. For this mission, he had to “build a family” and agrees to be in a fake marriage with a woman named Yor  and adopts a little girl named Anya as their daughter. However, his “wife” is another assassin nicknamed Thorn Princess, and the little girl can read minds. Only Anya knows the true situation of her “family,” but never says anything to her “parents.”

As of June 2021, the manga has published 7 volumes.
