Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Raises Anticipation Among Fans Ahead its Release!

Sonic The Hedgehog 2 updates are keeping fans on toes

The first look poster for Sega and Paramount‘s Sonic The Hedgehog 2 has been revealed, with more to come during The Game Awards. Probably the most popular video game movie in the modern era, the first Sonic The Hedgehog came out just before the pandemic took over, and managed to bring in good numbers. The redesigned sonic and other characters were appreciated, even though not everyone enjoyed the movie as a whole. But fans still think it was a good effort. Now, let’s see what’s new in the next one.

In the poster of Sonic The Hedgehog 2, we see Sonic (Ben Schwartz) on an airplane followed by Jim Carrey’s Robotnik and his drones. Robotnik is of course, taking over his Eggman identity, and Carey is seen sporting the iconic bald head. Sonic isn’t alone, though. He is accompanied by Miles Prower, aka Tails, who is piloting the plane. It has already been revealed that Tails, who was featured in the final scene of the first movie, will be voiced by Colleen O’Shaughnessy, who had been the voice of the character since 2014. It was also teased that Knuckles will appear in the second movie, and will be voiced by Idris Elba.

Production team

The sequel, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, will also come from Paramount Pictures, with Jeff Fowler returning as director, and Pat Casey, Josh Miller, returning as writers. They will be joined by John Whittington, who is the latest writer on board. Sega will be on board as producer, after developing the characters in the ’90s.

The movie began development shortly after the first movie’s release, and even after some COVID-19 interruptions, have completed production. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is now ready to hit theatres on April 8, 2022.
