Sonic The Hedgehog 2 has Big Plans for Knuckles as he Makes a Grand Entry!

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is definitely deserves more hype than the first movie!

The official trailer for Paramount‘s Sonic The Hedgehog 2 is out, and it looks great. After the surprisingly good adaption of Paramount Pictures and Sega’s first live-action on the beloved game character, fans have been waiting – not just for Sonic, but his allies Tails the fox and Knuckles the echidna. However, Knuckles is not Sonic’s ally yet, and from the trailer, it’s evident that the two are going to butt heads many times.

Story and cast

The trailer premiered during the Game Awards 2021 broadcast, since Sonic is, first of all, a very popular video game character. We see Sonic (Ben Schwartz) adjusting to his new life on Earth, and moonlighting as a vigilante to stop criminals, as he’s no longer under the watchful eyes of Robotnik-turned-Eggman (Jim Carrey), or is he? But Robotnik and his brand-new moustache returns, and Sonic has to find new allies. This comes in the form of Tails, who is the best sidekick a hedgehog could ask for.

It was revealed in December 7 that Tails will be voiced by his longtime voice actor, Colleen O’Shaughnessy. But Robotnik has his own tricks up his sleeve, and this time, it’s in the form of a very angry echidna. Knuckles was revealed to star in the sequel, and in August, Paramount revealed that Idris Elba will be playing him.

Getting Knuckles right

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 | Knuckles

Fans are loving Knuckles, and it’s not just because of his character design or Elba’s voice. It is because the makers are staying true to the lore and has made Knuckles a pawn belonging to Robotnik, before he becomes a frenemy to Sonic. Paramount has understood the assignment, and if they focus more on the rivalry between Eggman, Sonic, and Knuckles, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has potential to be the best video game movie in 2022.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2 hits theatres April 8th.
