The second season of In/Spectre will premiere in 2022
In/Spectre is a supernatural mystery/romance manga series created by Kyo Shirodaira and Chasiba Katase. The first season of the anime premiered on Crunchyroll in January 2020 as a Crunchyroll Original. And now, the anime’s official website has posted a promotional teaser announcing the show’s second season. The 58-second clip featured footage from the next season, and also announced that it will be releasing in 2022.
The story so far
One of the main character is in In/Spectre, Kotoko Iwanaga, a girl who was kidnapped as a child by yokai. Yokai can be described as a Japanese spirit or an East Asian ghost. These spirits have since used her as a connecting force between the human world and the spirit world and has various special powers. However, these powers came at the cost of an arm and a leg.
Years later, we see Kuro Sakuragawa who is struggling to get past his break-up. He comes across Kotoko, who announces that she’s been in love with him since they first met two years ago. She also reveals her special abilities, but Kuro doubts her. But when a fight involving a yokai breaks out in a library, he not only sees her powers, but also reveals his true identity in the process. Kuro turned out to be a monster who had eaten two kinds of yokai, and has powers of immortality and is able to foresee events. Kuro then agrees to accompany Kotoko as she roams Japan as the peace-keeping Goddess of Wisdom.

We are not aware of the anime’s exact date, but the manga, which came out in 2015, has recently completed its 16th volume. It will reach overseas markets on December 16th. Crunchyroll is expected to give out more details in the coming months.
