Dolly Parton & Eminem Mark themselves on Hall of Fame Induction 2022

Dolly, Eminem and few others join Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

Music’s biggest names are set to honor the newest wave of legends entering the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this weekend. The Hall of Fame includes, among others, country queen Dolly Parton and rap demagogue Eminem. Eminem, Lionel Richie, Dolly Parton, Duran Duran, Carly Simon, the Eurythmics, and married couple Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo are among the artists honored on Saturday evening at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 37th annual induction ceremony at the Microsoft Theatre in Downtown L.A.

The Microsoft Theatre in Downtown L.A. Dolly Parton led the supergroup into a hearty rendition of “Jolene”. Although country queen Dolly Parton is immensely honored and grateful to have been nominated to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, “I feel that I did not deserve this honor”, said the music pioneer, who has written thousands of songs including ‘Jolene’ and ‘I Will Always Love You.’

Dolly Parton is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in November – a chance that, after originally trying to snub, she said last week that she will reconcile and will accept gratefully after originally trying to get herself inducted.

Meanwhile, Eminem brought the whole room to its feet during the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame gala on Saturday, inducting the year’s most eclectic group of legends into a tribute to the rock spirit.

Turning 50 just last month, a huge drastic change compared to his youth age to now, he was still the youngest of Saturday’s seven inductees by far. The Hall of Fame seemed to move far away from the ‘90s rough Eminem when he was young to be a father and a heated rapper. And though he was straightforward and real during the program, he also seems conscious of where he came from and most importantly who he is.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will air on HBO, this November 19 at 8 pm, also available through online, streaming on HBO Max.
