After “Lalisa,” the singer’s “Money” becomes the new record breaker
BLACKPINK’s Lisa continues to climb steadily upwards and keeps showing the world why she is so popular. Whether it be with her group, or as a solo artist, Lisa is one formidable singer. A month after releasing her first solo song “Lalisa,” she has returned with the follow-up, “Money.” It was almost a given that the track will create history, and the song is trending heavily in the U.K.
Check out the accolades that the song has won till now.
1. Fourth-Highest-Charting Song By A K-Pop Solo Musician
“Money” has made a giant leap in the past as it jumped from Spot 81 to Spot 59, beating many artists including herself. She is now behind K-Pop artists Psy, who has songs “Gangnam Style” and “Gentleman” at spots 1 and 10 respectively. The other artist is her BLACKPINK teammate Rosé, who is at number 43 with her solo outing “On the Ground.” Lisa has officially become the fourth-highest solo K-pop chart-topper. It remains to be seen if she will move higher up the ranks.
2. Third-Longest-Charting Song By A K-Pop Soloist
It’s important to note that “Money” has entered the chart only 3 weeks ago. Meanwhile, the other songs had been staying for many months to years. One of the biggest achievements that Lisa can make will be beat “Gangnam Style” and “Gentleman,” both of which had been on the list for 55 and 19 weeks respectively.
3. Second-Highest-Charting Song By A Female K-Pop Soloist
Lisa beat her own song “Lalisa” as she became the second-highest-charting solo female K-pop artist. “Lalisa” is currently at No. 68, and will slip lower once “Money” starts rising in ranks.
It’s a historic moment for the native Thai singer nonetheless.
