Billie Eilish sweeps the major awards at Grammys as the event came to a wrap Sunday evening.
The 18-year-old carried the day awards in five chief categories. These included Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Album of the Year along with Best Pop Vocal Album. Eilish became the youngest ever singer to win the Album of the Year award. Taylor Swift held the record till now for Fearless in the year 2010. Now that she broke the record of Taylor Swift, she has already become the apple of the eye for many fans!
She already has a set of fan following and its increasing day by day. Her constant creations are getting regular attention, but this has also increased the expectation of her. Hopefully, she will continue to impress everyone with her music and sense of style!
As the nominees for Album of the Year were announced, Eilish was spotted saying “Please don’t be me” before her name was called as the victor. The young singer wished Ariana Grande to win the award for her song Thank you, next. Other nominees for the award included Lana Del Rey, Bon Iver, H.E.R, Lizzo, Lil Nas X, and Vampire Weekend. As soon as Eilish was announced the winner, she cried “no” and appreciate Grande in her acceptance speech. “Can I just say that I think Ariana deserves this?” said Eilish sweet praising her song. Ariana deeply felt beloved with this gesture by Eilish as she blew out kisses to her.
Billie Eilish is also the second singer to win awards for all the four main categories in a single year. She follows Christopher Cross who achieved the milestone in 1981. A diffident yet deserving Eilish rocked the Sunday evening winning the awards as well as the hearts of billions.
