Apple launches its 2019 short film ‘The Bucket‘ which was entirely shot on the iPhone XS. It is based on the theme of Chinese New Year, which is also known as Spring Festival, celebrated on February 5.
The film is 6 minutes long which shows the bond of mother and a son who was leaving from his hometown to his city apartment after the holidays.
It explores the Chinese family tradition where parents prepare gifts for their children who live far away so that they could return with the flavors of their home.
In the video, a grown-up boy seen carrying his gift which was loaded in ‘The Bucket‘. The film showed the journey from the countryside to the city and how did he carry the bucket all his way.
Created by TBWA Shanghai Office, the film was entirely shot in China by the Chinese director Jia Zhangke.
Apple also shared two behind the scenes which show how Jia worked on detailings and effects to shot the whole film.
The first making shows how Jia used slo-mo to capture the emotions of the actors. The second making show how he used the Depth-control feature to give it a dramatic effect, highlighting the iPhone’s main features.
In the end, Apple asks, “What gifts would your parents prepare when your Chinese New Year visit comes to an end?”
