Albetro ‘Alpo’ Martinez shot dead
Alberto ‘Alpo’ Martinez has been shot. The infamous drug dealer who was in prison for murder and he was in witness protection custody has been murdered by Sunday. He was a 55-year-old former drug kingpin, who was shot dead in Harlem in the early morning. Martinez was given the witness protection for testifying against his associates. He was sitting in his car at 147th street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard at 3:30 am in the morning and he was shot five times.
He was the inspiration behind the movie Paid In Full. The movie focused on the real-life successful dealers Azie Faison, Alpo, and Rich Porter. His character was the inspiration behind the fictional character Rico which was played by Cam’ron. He was also mentioned in a number of rap songs. In real life, he became the informant for the police and testified against his associates. He was taken to the hospital after receiving 911 calls and there he was pronounced dead.
Martinez’s Crimes
In real life, Martinez had a cocaine business from New York City to Washington, D.C serving a 14-year-old prison sentence out of 35-yr old and he was released in 2015. He was in prison for 14 murders. He was arrested in 1991 for drugs and murder charges. In 1991, when he was arrested, Rich Porter was one of the people he shot and he also explained the reason for doing so. He explained that Porter had lied to him about something and when Martinez gave him the chance to come clean Porter didn’t so Martinez shot him dead.
He was also featured in one of the episodes of Gangsters: America’s Most Evil in 2021. He has been referenced by many singers such as Jay-Z, Meek Mill, Pusha T, and Nas.
