Stranger Things’ Season 4 Episode 1 Early Reactions Call It “Dark, Scary, and Visually Stunning”

The review for Stranger Things season 4, Episode 1 is out! Season 4 is going to be even bigger than the other three, and hence has been split into two parts. Part 1 arrives on Netflix in less than a week, on May 27. And now, reviews for the very first episode has also arrived.

Before Stranger Things season 4 becomes Netflix-only, a world premiere of the first episode was held on Saturday. Many media members also received the invite so that they can tweet out their experiences. Official reviews won’t start coming out until May 23, but some who attended the event have been praising it, saying it looks like a setup to be the best season yet.

Steven Weintraub of Collider tweeted, say that the team took time setting up the rest of the season in the first episode. Due to that, episode 1 is almost an hour and 15 minutes long. Other reactions have stated that season 4 is shaping up to be the scariest season yet. The Duffer Brothers have made the series more mature, seeing as how the characters have also grown up. But they still retained certain parts of the series that audiences love. Meanwhile, the direction and visually-stunning cinematography has been praised by other reviewers. The overall look of the show has changed for the better.

As for the synopsis, we know that the gang is at different places. Mike, Dustin, and Lucas are still at Hawkins, while Eleven has moved away with the Byers family. Hopper is reportedly dead, but we got to see that he is in a secret prison in Russia. How the gang comes together to tackle the evil forms the rest of the story.

Part 1 of Stranger Things season 4 will come out on May 27, and Part 2 will be out on July 1.
